Cafe Grim Fanlimbo 2012. Giclee print. Martin Wollerstam. Part 2 of 3 of the Kafé Inferno collection. A three part series of cafes, inspired by Dante's Inferno. Originally part of a Swedish artists' group show back in 2012 in London, UK, called Fika*. This one is represent the limbo there's also one being the land of the living, and a third the burning inferno of hell. For this drawing I found inspiration from the 1998 adventure game Grim Fandango, directed by Tim Schafer and developed and published by LucasArts. * "Fika is a concept, a state of mind, an attitude and an important part of Swedish culture. Many Swedes consider that it is almost essential to make time for fika every day. It means making time for friends and colleagues to share a cup of coffee (or tea) and a little something to eat." ― Swedishfoods.com |
